Hi, I am Muma Ouch
I was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica.
Being from Jamaica I was always very happy with my body. In Jamaica being “fat” was considered good breeding and a symbol of wealth unlike in the western world.
I learned that the rest of the world had a different view of plus size women very soon after getting married and immigrating to Canada. Here, my size wasn’t considered Beauty, it was the exact opposite, I was just fat, lazy and disgusting.
Sadly, yes, I bought into the lie and started hating and punishing myself by taking every diet pill and bringing all the commercial diet products into my home.

At the same time I was also being emotionally abusive toward my children. As I see now, I was raising children with low self-esteem because I couldn’t love myself so I wasn’t loving them the way I believe a mother should. I was in a relationship that was also abusive and feeding my poor self esteem.
It took me going back to Jamaica on vacation to remember who I was. I did a lot of soul searching to finally find the strength to leave my abuser and get healthy for my children and then for myself.
Now my kids, who are all grown (2 girls and 1 son), thank me for their confidence, lol, yes me!
It has now been 17 years and I’m healthy, happy, confident and much stronger. Of those 17 yrs, I have spent 14 with a man who tells me everyday how beautiful and sexy I am.
I thank god everyday for giving me the strength to stop hating myself and for making the diet industry rich. They will never get another penny from me or anyone in my family.
Never again will I just sit and watch life go by….
I AM NOW LIVING AND LOVING LIFE!
